IT Helpdesk Specialist

Pay: $26.00 – $28.85 per hour

Position Summary
The IT Helpdesk Specialist is responsible for providing frontline technical support to employees across a growing organization. This role focuses on end-user support, device and account management, and consistent execution of IT processes. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, works independently, and delivers professional, high-quality support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 1/Tier 2 support for hardware, software, and access issues via tickets, email, and chat
  • Support Windows and macOS devices, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, InTune), and Azure AD.
  • Provides and manages user accounts, laptops, and mobile devices (including onboarding/offboarding).
  • Assists with MFA, VPN, password resets, and basic security issues.
  • Follows documented SOPs and contributes to improving helpdesk processes.
  • Escalates issues appropriately and coordinates with vendors when needed.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and asset records.
  • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.

Job Requirements (Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

Required:

  • 2 plus years in an IT helpdesk or desktop support role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and basic IT support workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) required.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment during East Coast business hours.
  • Must be available to work after-hours to provide support as needed.

Desired:

  • Experience with Intune or other MDM tools
  • Basic networking knowledge (DNS, VPN concepts)
  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft)
